This page assumes that you already have your page hosted elsewhere and you already have your domain name registered. Obviously, this process may vary depending on your old host and registrar. If you have any questions, be sure to contact the Machfront Team.
1. Sign Up for Machfront Service
Visit the Plans Page and choose the plan that fits your needs.
Fill in all of the required information and choose how often you want to be billed.
With Paypal you can use your Credit Card or use funds from your existing Paypal account.
Follow the Paypal dialogue and fill in required information.
A confirmation e-mail will be sent from Paypal. You'll receive an e-mail from Machfront with tour account information within 24 hours.
2. Upload Your Existing Website to Machfront
FTP to ftp.machfront.com (See Support for Help)
Enter the username and password found in the Machfront confirmation e-mail.
Upload your website into the httpdocs folder as it was at your old host.
If you're using scripts (Perl or PHP), be sure to reconfigure them using the new system paths.
3. Switch the Nameservers at Your Registrar
Login to your Registrar (where you bought your domain name).
Once you have logged in, look for settings relating to Name Servers.
You'll need to enter the addresses of both nameservers in order to switch.
Our nameservers are: ns.machfront.com and ns2.machfront.com.
A Name Server change can take up to 48 hours to take effect.*
*In order to see if the change has taken effect, you may want to make a small change on your Machfront-hosted page. If you visit your domain and see the change, the process is complete.
4. Cancel your Old Host
Call, e-mail, or follow your old host's procedures for discontinuing their service.
5. You're Done! Configure Your Account as You Want It!
Log in to My Account
Click on Edit to update your customer information. Click OK.
Click on your Domain Name near the bottom of the screen.
Configure other options within this menu, such as mail, subdomains, etc. See the Support Page for more help.
